[We are a church that tries never to put a period where God has placed a comma--God is Still Speaking. ]

Thank you for visiting our Website. As we minister to our members, our community, and our world in the name of the Still Speaking God, we invite you to see what is happening in Anamosa's First church. So, no matter who you are, no matter where you are on life's journey you are welcome at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Anamosa, Iowa.  .  Please come back often.

In the meantime you can reach us at [319-462-3796] and at P.O. Box 152, Anamosa, IA 52205.   You can also contact us at our e-mail address: [firstucc@att.net].

If you are not familiar with our denomination and your first contact with us is online, we invite you learn more at www.iaconfucc.org or at www.ucc.org: We would be pleased to hear from you! If you are in or near Anamosa, we invite you to come to worship at 10:30 AM (9:30 between Memorial Day and Labor Day, inclusive) and experience what we strive for:  an extravagant welcome. We are located just one block south of main street at the corner of Booth and First Streets.

Please let us know what your needs and questions are, we will try to answer them. .

In brief, you should know the following about us: our church was the first church in Anamosa and was begun in 1846.  However, being the oldest church doesn't mean we think or act old.  Our faith is 2000 years old; our thinking is not.  Worship at First blends many traditional elements with an informal style and a lively mix of lay and pastoral leaders.  Come and see for yourself and tell us if we lived up to our goal of being an extravagantly welcoming church.  We worship every Sunday.  At 9:30 AM from Memorial Day through Labor Day and at 10:30 the rest of the year.  Sunday School and Confirmation Class are at 9:30 Labor Day through May. For details about other programs, ministriess, and opportunities for service, see the section of this web site called:  What's happening at First?
